By adding the skimmer, do I need to dose with anything?
I'm also running a filter with poly filter.is it overkill?
I presently have 2 ocellaris and 3 soft coral frags.

What are your intentions on running the skimmer? Many dont use them. For a 33 gallon if thats all thats in there your bioload is light.

Currently I'm running 2 ac 50 with bio media purigen and poly filter
I have live rock also (not so live yet).
I'd like to reduce the water change frequency from every week to every other week if possible. Eventually add an anemone and a fish or two.

You dont need to do water changes every week unless your trying to drive something down. Remember live rock is your filter. How long has the tank been up? Not saying you cant use a skimmer by any means. Anemones do good in established tanks with stable parameters. You could start posting a list and that would help.

Or trying to keep your parameters in check. With no dosing and more corals introduced in the tank alk, calc, and mag will require some form of replenishment.

a local guy is selling an aqua c remora which i'm thinking of getting. Not sure yet.
The c remora was good for it's time. If you change from "Not Sure" to I am getting a skimmer then pass on the remora and get the Aquamaxx. You'll never regret it.

Just trying to help from experience.

Every week? Nothing he has is that demanding to require such frequent replenishment. And he could also dose like you both mentioned. Just my opinion.

for a 33g ur fine with one AC and skimmer combo. the polyfilter is hands down one of the best products you can run with what it picks up/color changes. as for dosing that requires testing to happen first your w/c should handle the foundation am softies don't drink form it like stonies do

So I've been running the remora for 5 days now and I added some poly pad where the water comes out in order to catch most microbubbles and noticed today that the pad is brown.
Is it normal? Seems the water coming out isn't 100% clean.
The collection cup gets emptied every 2 days for now since it's full of brown/green water.
