So I have a firmly established pair of gold-striped maroon clowns that are currently hosting in a pair of BTA (it was one giant one, which then split, but the two anemones hang out so close that you can't always tell they're two animals). I also happen to have a carpet anemone (a haddoni I am pretty sure) in the back left corner (the BTA is about 3/4 of the way over to the right side, near the front). Both anemones (well, all three) seem happy and have not moved more than an inch or two for the last month. Also, the maroons have shown no interest in the carpet at all...I'm not even sure they've ever been to that side of the tank (6' 240 gallon).
What are my chances at success if I put a different species of clownfish in and introduce him in the vicinity of the carpet? I think its key that he hosts the carpet quickly, otherwise there could be trouble, but the GSMs don't venture very far from their BTAs...could this work?
What are my best chances at a quick match with the carpet? I initially thought I would get a percula or ocellaris, but according to the FAQ here they aren't natural hosts of the haddoni carpets. I saw clarkiis in there, and I think sebaes, plus several I'm not familiar with. I'm assuming wild-caught in this case is more likely to host the anemone.
