adding clay flower pots

What needs to be done with a orange clay flower pot before adding it into a tank? Just rinse it good? Do I do need to let it sit in reg or salty water for awhile first?

I have one that is just normal, cleaned and they love it. I also have one that I used superglue (lots of it) to coat it in sand. Same SG used to work with coral frags. The sand is only the outside and helps "hide" the pot... Not really... but I tried.. :)

Get it new from the store and that way you will know no one used it to pot up something with fertilizer, or heaven forbid - herbicide (standard terracotta clay pot). It should be clean and not have any kind of coating, paint, glue, markings, whatever. Rinse it in water and plop it in your tank. It will weep tiny air bubbles for a few hours, but it will get saturated soon enough.

I also make "feet" with aquaputty to keep the pot from rolling around.
