Hi when i used to work selling aquarium supply and fish and we received livestock we used to pair , single or bunch. If you've heard the expression ; two' s company but 3 is a crowd! This probably applies. Meaning two of different sizes is good . Single is ok and there rarely was problems equal or above 6 specimens. But I know a guy who has 4 funky designer ocellaris in a 30 gallon right now and everything seems ok for the time being. So size ratio is what you should concentrate on not Color as long as they are the same species.
If she's really territorial and you are worried about her attacking ... You can shuffle your live rock around put her in a bucket and acclimate her back into the tank at the same time as the new smaller (male) fish.
Good luck finding the right guy
