Adding DI to RO filter

Hi Everyone,

I have added a DI filter to an RO unit, So I added it last in line after all the other chambers. Right before the tank. I seen that it was not filling up with water. The water would just come in and fill about 1/4 in. I am guessing its not in the correct spot. thanks for the help ..

You have it installed correctly.

Unlike other pre filters DI when making a good seal and with little back pressure it will not fill up.

Mine fills up about 1/2 way on the outside of the di cartridge. The Di resin is full of water.

Thanks Guys, I think I found the problem.. I moved it inline right before the RO filter. Now it fills up all the way. it needed some back PSI.

It needs to be after the RO membrane for final polishing or you will going through DI resin very quickly.

+1. It was performing correctly when you saw a partially empty cartridge. If should not be upstream of the RO membrane.

Putting the DI before the RO means it will last about half an hour before becoming exhausted :lol:

I dont understand .. The water enters the chamber runs to the bottem then out the tube in the middle.. how the the filter work like this ? now its full
