Adding fish to QT

I've had a flame angel, Midas blenny, and firefish in QT for a few weeks now. I thought the salinity was at 1.009 for prophylactic hypo but yesterday I saw some ich spots on the angel. I checked and it was 1.011.

I was hoping to get another fish order in a week. Would it be a bad idea to raise the salinity to 1.020 over a few days, add the new fish and start hypo all over? I hypo all new additions and don't just don't want to have to wait another 3 months to get all the fish in the DT. TIA

As long as all the fish are eating well and not stressed or fighting I see no problem. I have done this many times, albeit with cupramine and prazi.

Thanks for the reply hobbzz. I figure if I have to start hypo all over again I might as well include more fish.

Hyposalinity by itself is a poor check for ick. Best to medicate as well, as hobbzz mentioned. I would choose one path or another, either start dosing medication if you're determined to add more fish now, or restart the hypo with just the existing fish. Either method may work but rushing to add more fish too soon is not the safest way.

Mechanically you could do it, but I would not add a new fish to a QT I knew contained inch infected fish.
