hello all i have had my tank up and running for about 3 months now, i have a 245 display, w 90 gallon sump and octopus ddnw 250 skimmer, also running carbon and gfo, have 3 vortechs in display, all sps, heres the question:

I have a chance to gt a great deal on fish and wanna stock my tank, i currently have 2 true percs and one yellow tang, I would like to add, a powder blue tang, a kole tang, a lepord wrasse, and a nasso tang, all would be on the smaller side of 3-5 '' i would like to add all at once cuz i figure it would be less of a territorial thing, id plan to add them all at night.... please if u have experiance w tangs or any of these fish your thoughts would be helpful... thanks

I'm no expert here (never actually had a tang) but from what I've read all I can say is *definitely* QT those fish! Tangs are ich magnets and it would horrible to rush and mess up your beautiful sounding tank! :)

the store is really good with there fish appaently, they quarentine, and be sure all fish are pest free. i was just worried about adding 4 fish at one time really.... whats the most fish ppl add at one time, i really have never been too much of a fish guy lol, but have a bug for tangs.....

I totally agree with Aaarrggg. Most fish stores QT for 1 - 2 weeks and even run copper in the tanks. This is not even close to being long enough as you need to QT for a minimum of 6 weeks. By running copper, they can also "mask" the disease that a fish have, therefore, the fish may look healthy in the holding tanks, but will eventually have an outbreak once in your DT as all of the disease was not eradicated. Adding a PBT to the DT without QT is like adding a time bomb without first QT and proactively treating for ich, ime. Once ich is in your DT, it is very hard to get rid of (you would then need to QT and go fallow in your main DT for 8 weeks or so). If you really don't want to QT, I would forgo the PBT as this seems to be the worst offender to carrying ich.

I once took chances as well without QT, but after my blue hippo tang developed ich in my DT, I now QT everything!

def need to qt them...dose with prazi and cupramine...would not add all the tangs to the tank...they tend to be aggressive towards eachother...pbt can have real bad attitudes...
