Adding kole after yellow tang?

I've got a 120 gal mixed reef that has a 3-4" inch yellow tang that while dominant, does not appear to be a bully. It will posture against my melanurus and pink margin wrasses and female clown, but never any fighting. That said, I don't have any other tangs in my tank. What are my odds for success for adding a kole tang, assuming I use an acclimation box and a 3-day lights-out period? Thanks in advance for the input.

Glad you posted this. I have a kole in QT right now that will be joining my Yellow in a 225g tank. I think you pretty much have the process down pat. The only thing left out was to re-arrange the rockwork a little, but that may not be necessary as you are using an acclimation box. For the few fish I've added, the yellow would harrass for a couple of hours or up to a day, then accept the fish into the tank with out further aggression...

How big is the kole compared to the yellow anyway?

this should be interesting :worried:
my 5" yt was a bully when i have my 90g, after i got the 200g i added a 2.5" yt to keep his company. the smaller one was actually chasing the bigger one for maybe 2 weeks. now they r same 5" size like a good family.

I have had good success using an acclimation box - until the thing fell apart. That's what you get for DIY. Need to build another one!

Thanks for the input. I don't have a kole tang yet, but I wanted to get one because I like the pattern and want a fish that will constantly scour my rocks. Rearranging the rocks won't work in my tank, I guess the acclimation box it is then.
