adding livestock

New tank is starting to look very nice. The live rock is colorful, the water perameters look great, and the plumbing seems to work.

OK, it is fish time. I have snails (12 turb, and 12 of a small variety, we have 5 hermit crabs, and one stand of a soft coral) I have a small school of 5 chromis 5. We are thinking of a flame angel for our next addition..

Will be adding a clown fish and a cleaner shrimp in about a month (they will need a home when my son breaks down his school based tank). We are also thinking of a yellow tang.

This is a 90 gallon tank. are 8 fish too much? Will these guys get along? Also, how big does a yellow tang get?

Thanks for all your help

I have a 90 and intend to have 8 or 9 fish. I have a Yellow Tang in QT that I will be adding in a week or two. I think 8 should be OK especially if they are smaller fish. A Yellow Tang can get around 7" and I believe a 90 should be fine. I would suggest adding the last few fish slowly and test your water to ensure you don't develop a problem.

with those fish i tyhink you will be fine. I wouldn't add any more as the fish will grow and increase in size. IMEthe chromis will naturally reduce their numbers by picking on the weakest of the bunch.

Flame angels sometimes nip at corals, but otherwise those 8 fish sound reasonable to me. The yellow tanks top out around 8-9".
