adding new clowns to estab. clowns

I need advice. I have a 125 gal established tank with the following; 3 purple fire fish, 1 yellow tail damsel, 4 Bangaii Cardnels, 2 Black & White Heniochus, 1 Desjardin sailfin tang, 1 Yellow tang, 4 Pajama Cardinalfish and lastly 3 Tank Raised Perc Ocellaris. The three clowns have been in my tank for about 5 months. They are about 1.5 inches long. At my local pet store they have a mated pair of clowns that have been together for about 5 years. They are about 2.5 inches long. I have a 29 gal hospital tank that I run all fish through before adding them to my show tank. I would like to add the two older clowns to my tank. One expert at the store seems to think my tank is big enough and that the clowns would have no problems with each other. The other expert says the two established older clowns could kill my existing three clowns. It is imposible to fish out the three clowns in the show tank. Lots of rock and corals. What can I do? Could I add the two clowns to my show tank? Or, could I keep the two older clowns in my hospital tank perminently?

umm no. If you want the pair I would definitely remove the existing clowns and the damsel. the older clowns will likely kill these when they settle in. Find out where they are sleeping and nab them at night. I find that this is the best approach. If you wanted to you could probably keep them in the 29.
On a seperate note I would also question the Desjardin tang and the yellow being kept together. I could be wrong but they normally dont mix well together. I would keep an eye on them.

I have add skunk clowns and false percs in a tank together for 2 yrs never had a problem, the skuks would chase the others off if they got to close, but that was it.

In my 120 now I have had a 4-5 in Maroon in a little bulb tip, and 2 false percs in a 14in magnifica and those percs don't dare get withing 6 inches away from the magnifica or that maroon is all over them. Too big to catch them however.

So I think it goes both ways!!
