Mine was very hard to pair up because of her size. When I got my second one the female was 2"-2.5" and he was. 75"-1" (this was my third attempt to pair her up). What I did was acclimate him like you normally would and made sure he was eating well and was going to make it. Then I put him in a clear acclimation box and put it right next to the spot in my tank where she liked to hang out (I do not have an anemone). Once she stopped trying to attack him through the box, took a couple of days, I put them both of them in a bigger acclimation box that had a removable partition, I think it was actually a breeder box that I got at PetSmart. Again, once she stopped trying to attack him I took the partition out and watched them to make sure she didn't try to kill him. There was MINIMAL biting/chasing because of how slow I took it with them. The whole process took about 2 weeks but I have never had such an easy/unstressful pairing ever. They have been together now for close to six months and he has almost doubled in size and BOTH of them are starting to show some really good signs for the future, fanning the sand, biting the rocks, etc. Hope this helps, maroons can be REALLY hard to pair.
