adhesive removal?

I got a large chunk of 1/4" acrylic from a friend. There was some tinting material that I pulled off. I want to clean it up and get some of the gunk off. Any suggestions that would be safe?

really? I tried some and didn't seem to take it off. Are you cutting it with anything?

ok will try a soak. Need to find a pan large enough. Not sure I got the pirate kind either.

rubbing alcohol or everclear?
it's ok to get the everclear in your mouth!

If you are not going to be machining it later, rubbing alcohol is fine to use. I t can cause crazing later on though.

I have already cut the outlet holes in it and cut it to size. There is a slight bow it in but I am not too worried about it. Maybe 3/8-1/2" bow. Nothing that will jack up my application. Next thing I need to do is cut the overflow area and start cutting baffles. Still have not decided if I am going to do a slotted overflow like my nano cube or just and open oval and let an overflow box do the work.

There is a stuff called Gue Gone, that stuff works awesome. Not sure about the reef safe side of that.
