Hi guys,
appreciated for info and pic of adult pinktail trigger i was told that adult fish has awesome green colour tone,is it true? care to share your experience?

I had one that was BEAUTIFUL. Model citizen. I got rid of him as he was falsly convicted in a coral nipping incident. Never touched corals or ornamental shrimp. Beautiful deep green, w/ lighter green face. Chartruse pec fins. Clear "trigger" fins w/black stripes at the tips.

Gave him to a buddy who's got him in a FO system. Replaced him w/ a sargassum after which all 3 of my ornamental shrimps dissappeared. Strongly considering getting him back. But don't think I'll be able to catch the Sargassum. He's still very shy after 3 months.

My sargassum is in the $2000 trigger thread. I tried to dig up a pic of the pink tail but I didn't have a good one. I can always snap a shot of him at my friends house. Might be there today.

Timing is everything. Talked to my buddy yesterday and asked about the trigger. Short pause, there was a heater incident. Tank temp dropped significantly. Very large, old puffer died, but trigger was still going, however, it had not been seen in about 24 hrs. Praying for the best. I'll feel sick if something bad happens to it. I'd hate to think my hasty blame, ultimately caused a fish's early demise.

so sad to hear about your friend's incident but hope that the trigger will be out pretty soon,by the way,how big is it?i saw a 4"plus fish at a Lfs but the body colour was toward a very dark brown not the lime green mentioned in the internet.any comment?

It did display some color variance. I can only guess the one at the LFS wasn't that happy. Mine would get very green around the chin and face when really amped up. I was lucky enough to swim with some on a natural reef in Maui. Same dark green/w/ lime hints on them.

Mine's about 4 1/2-5 inches.

i guess you got a point there when a fish is stress, colour may be a bit dull.with proper care and stable condition colour will improve.you mention that it glow near the chin that is what i saw at the Lfs,man! awesome never happen with other fishes.

finally i got the pinktail trigger size around 4 to 5" nice pink colour tail and i love the body shape and better looking than many other trigger i kept before.
not aggresive at all towards my french angel and PBT.wonder how awesome is the 16" pinktail?

my emperor angel can bark so loud you can hear it in the other room no kidding. I also one time had a a filefish that would quack. triggers, rhinecanthus in particular can also bark but I've never heard it.

My pink tail, when I first put it in, did this thing where it would open and kinda puff out his mouth and snap his teeth shut and it made this little grunt/bark sound. He did the same thing when I took him out. And my new sargassum also did it when being transfered from acclimation bucket to tank. Too funny.

First time I heard it, I did a double take. But sure enough.......

My emporer barks (I prefer the term grunt) so loud that the glasses in the display cabinet along side the tank (built into same unit) vibrate and resonate........

I'll be honest, Its quite annoying - it was endearing at first, but as he has got bigger, an the novelty has worn off, its just annoying at this stage......
