Advice for mounting frags?

I bought a few nice frags over the weekend but they were small and keep getiing upended by the crabs and snails.

I tried superglue gel but it is a mess and a small tube doesn't go very far. I think I successfully superglued a couple of frags to liverock.

I tried AquaMend and attached a few frags to some liverock rubble but the "crew" still manages to knock them around when they eat in the area. It also took alot more aquamend to get a mount (it's like working with wet playdough before it dries).

Any other suggestions?

Patience...it is ok to let the frag sit out a few minutes to allow the superglue to dry more. Less works better than more too. Once mounted it can be hard to find a good safe place to put the rubble so it won't get knocked over. One thing I do is figure out where I want the rubble and superglue it to the rock, it will set up under water.

How are you going about supergluing the frags? I use superglue for everything despite the fact that I'm horrible with it. I recommend getting some rock rubble and not putting it in the water...leave it to dry out, or you could use some frag plugs. Whenever I get a new frag (like today :D) I grab a piece of dry rubble, put a ton of super glue gel on the rock, then dry off the frag and attach the frag to the rock. After it's glued I give it about 10 minutes for the glue to dry and then stick it in the tank.

I had wanted to avoid gluing too much to larger live rock as I like the idea of being able to rearrange things if I need to. It also helps with taking the rocks out... I can put all of the frags in a bowl and then take the rock out easily if need be.

I'll try the "less is better" approach. I only really tried to superglue things IN the tank (underwater). I suppose a good drying before another attemp is in order. I do like the fact that it appears superglue will scrape off of the rock easily.

Superglue isn't permanent on rock. When I need to move a frag I superglued it comes off easily enough.

I really didn't think it would work EVER in the tank. I just have a dry rock and put glue. Stick the frag to it and walk away. 5 minutes later I come back and dip it in the water real quick to give the glue a skin, then walk away for another 5 minutes, come back and place them in the tank. And yes I've found frags the next day still sitting there! :(

Ohhh... it works underwater. You just get these little blobs of glue floating around once in a while. :D
