Advice for Tank Size... 8 footer

I am planning on building an 8' long aquarium at my office, but wanted advice as to the depth and height. There are 3 options I'm looking at:

180 Gallon: 96 x 18 x 25 Tall
240 Gallon: 96 x 24 x 25 Tall (Example: 1 2
300 Gallon: 96 x 30 x 25 Tall (Example: Ryan's 300 Gallon Starfire)

This will be Peninsula style, and will be built to standing height. I have attached photos of my office and it's placement. It will act as a wall between my office and the receptionist area. Thanks for any advice or comments!

The bigger footprint = more room/options for aquascaping, which leaves more room for coral placement and fish selection. I think the 18 inch depth will limit you in your creativity with the above. The 24 would probably be the minimun I would go for this length tank, but the 30 would be awesome! Can't wait to see this thing get built!

Go (at least) with option three, if you have the room. Even better, consider a 350G 96x36x25 (MOL). As the previous poster noted, the extra space for three dimensional aquascaping will make a tremendous difference down the road.

I'm prejudiced, because that's the size of my new tank - and I love it!

Think about an external overflow the full length of your side wall. Also think about Vortech powerheads to keep the inside of your tank clean looking.

go as big as you can go! i would go widest, option 3 looks great. plus 25 high, you dont have to worry about getting higher wattage halides.

yea, when doing a peninsula wider is definantly better. At 18in you would have probably less then 6in of width to stack rocks & all that stuff due to wanting to keep it away from the glass.

Going 30in is better however if you have the room 36in will give you a LOT more room! 30 would be the narrowest I would consider with 36in being a LOT better for the width. I prefer taller tanks so since you are doing glass I would go 30in tall. Gives you a much better picture window :)

I would go with the 30" depth.

I have a 96"x48"Dx26"H and I really like the look of it.
