Advice needed on sump

So, I can't really find any info on this exact subject. Should I put foam board underneath my all glass sump for "safety" reasons? It's 21x21 out of 1/4" glass. Bottom pane supports the 4 sides. I emailed Marc at melevs reef and haven't heard back. I have a piece of 1/2" blue foam board here, but not sure if it is a must or not. I'm aware that tanks with plastic frames its a no, but not sure about the all glass.
Thanks

Unless your wood is perfectly engineered flat which I doubt , I would place foam on this sump. I chipped a few frameless glass tanks because of point stress caused by the wood.

General guideline - for frameless tanks use foam underneath to prevent point stresses for the reason described above. For rimmed tanks, no foam.
