Advice on Blue Tuxedo Urchin

I went to the store to buy some additional clean-up crew and was told that a blue tuxedo urchins were good so I bough one. They told me it was reef safe and excellent for cleaning algae. After I got home and acclimated it into the tank I thought Id do a little research on it. The information I read says that they should only be put in mature tanks because they eat a lot of algae and new tanks will not have enough to keep them fed so they will die over a couple of weeks. Can anyone elaborate on this or give advise please?

Get some algae tabs or something similar

I have several and they are good algae eaters. How new is your tank? Have you gone thru the algae stages yet?

Some will also eat nori strips.

I put one in a fairly new system and once the algae present started to seem to dwindle I started to give him Nori every few days. It is rather comical because the first time I gave it to him he was up in the top right corner (which is not typical for him to be there). Now he conveniently goes up there and hangs out when he is ready for more. Just supplement and they are a great addition! Just wait until yours starts to accessorize; you just never know what you are going to find on him in the morning!

It's just a couple of month old, but doing well so far. I know I still have a lot to learn tho. That's why I joined. Thanks for replying.
