advice on my 400w 24nano

i recently put a 14k 400 over my 24nano and added a 2.5 gallon refugium i was wondering if you think it might be to much light montipora caps or m.digitata or crocea clams my friend gave me a small one and it only lasted two days i run my temp at 76 cal 450 mag 1400 and kh 11 no phosphates asl at 25 my gigas seems to love it anything i missed on the clam whould be helpfull info

I would think you'd have better luck going with a 250, even that I would make sure its a 20k so the PAR will be lower to compensate for all the wattage. 400 watts of 14k is alot of light, and dont really think its necessary unless your dealing with a tank thats 24+" in depth. Just my opinion though.

i was thinking max growth but iam thinking 20k is the way to go thanks for the advice plus just wanted to sat i have a 400w nano lol

I agree with Justin. 400w is over kill on that size tank. you could get just as good color/growth with a 250w IMO. That sucker must really heat up.
