give him time.......continue with the clams, mussels, mysis, etc...he is still adjusting......took about 3 weeks before mine took anything!

Turn the lights out to help him acclimate as they are not necessary in a qt tank. That should also help drop your temperature to 76-78.

ive turned lights out since yesterday to drop temps hopfully he will begin feeding any suggestions or anything special to try toentice him to eat other than garlic

Some fish like garlic and I imagine others may not.

I went to the lfs and bought one each of 15+ types of frozen foods, including cyclopeeze. Then I mix them all up in a container and feed the mix. Hopefully, new fish will start to pick at something they like, as there is brine shrimp plus, pe mysis, angel/butterfly formula, etc.

Good luck!

I wouldn't worry at this point and you only had it for couple of days. Some of my angels took 7.5 weeks to eat prepared food. I've a Colini that took 5.5 wks but the Venustus I got back in May is still not eating other than grazing glass and LRs. I would continue to feed live clams about twice a week to entice the Regal to eat.

Check with Max to see what they were feeding Regal. I'm looking into getting one from RHS but waiting for Max to get back to me when he can get a Christmas Island Emperor that is in the 4-6" size so I can order together.

Please continue to post updates.

btw--how big is your Regal?

thanks guys well he is in the 4-5 inch range but id say hes about 4 1/2 inches hes perfect size imo and his colors are awseome very vibrant i will definatelykeep you all posted on his progress only new how to post pics on rc i would definetaly post some but i cant seem to figure it out

I would recommend trying different foods. Sometimes the opposite happens and they stop trying to eat. Right now he is still trying out different foods. It would seem that hunger would kick in and he'd eat, but that is not how it usually goes.
