Advice on setting up MP10

Hey guys, I have an MP10 to out on my new 16g tank. The tank has water in it, and I am ready to hook up the MP10. I've never had experience with a vortech before. I have seen pics of vortechs in use and know they can create quite a wave. How much space should I leave at the top of the tank with no water so I don't get water splashing over the side of the tank? And how low down do most people keep the MP10s in their tank? Also, what setting do most people recommend? The tank is 24" long. Thanks!

Thanks! I checked out some vids on youtube to get some ideas. I got it running okay. I plan to mostly have LPS and maybe a few softies in the tank. Would lagoon mode be the best fit for this?

i like to change lagoon and reef setting they are great pumps no doubt im sure you are glad you got it

I change up the settings all the time. That is one of the nice things about these pumps, you can easily change the flow whenever you want to. The flow in the ocean changes all the time. Don't be afraid to experiment with it.
