After a year my BTA went for a trip. Help

I've had a large BTA for over a year. It split a while back and they both have been living side by side, hosted by 2 maroon clowns. The larger BTA of the original, just closed up shop and moved behind a rock, out of sight last week. It's been back there for a few days. The clowns keep going back to it and I can barely see it with a flashlight. I keep waiting for it to come back out but it won't. I've rescued it once before by turning the rock around and then it was fine this whole time. The other one has remained in the same spot and nothing's changed in my tank.

I really think they just some times take a walk-a-bout. After mine split I didn't see one of them for 5-6 months. The one left in my tank goes from one side of the rock to the other every couple of weeks. Right now he just moved next to a condy.

Who knows why they do what they do.

Well, my large BTA is still MIA. My smaller maroon clown is nowhere to be found from time to time. Only the smaller BTA is still out and I think the female kicks the smaller male out of it sometimes. I think he still hosts in the one that moved behind a rock but I haven't seen any of it in a week. It moved out of the light almost 2 weeks ago and hasn't been out to get any light since. Nothing has shown any ill effect from it dying. I'm still stumped as to what to do about it. I'm afraid that it's going to die back there.

From the info pages ive been reading they say they do this from time to time and somtimes last months but they will come back out when it needs light or food. I wouldnt worry about it, your m. clown is probly keeping it company.

It re-emerged! I was real suprised this afternoon when I came home from work. Hung my keys up next to the tank and glanced over.... there it is. It moved from the lower center of the tank all the way to the back, top right corner, between a rock and the back glass. It's touching a nice hammer coral and stressing it out so I'm going to have to find a new spot for it now. The anemone is a very dark green after being in the dark for a couple weeks. I know this is the first time it's been out because I would have noticed it many times by now. I'm just glad it's alive. :)

!! it drives you crazy dosesnt it? mine has walked over every inch of my tank the last 5 days. it was in a happy spot for almost 8 months and now its just wondering around stinging whatever it feels like. it stayed in a decent spot for the last 30 hours, i was getting hopeful. I just turned around ten minutes ago, and its walking again. Im just glad none of my corals are mounted. But im sick of setting my alarm for the middle of the night to make sure its not getting chopped up. i need some rest.
