After reading all of the articles on Ich posted here, I have one question

After reading all of the articles on Ich posted here, I have one question: I have a 125 gallon FOWLR. My 2 fish friends and I were kind of in a rush to set up my tank, which was an upgrade from a 55. Some of the fish in the 55 were battling with Ich when we did the transfer. Now, several of the newer fish I have added (slowly) into the 125 are getting a little bit of it, especially the Powder Blue tang I adore (I hear they are ich magnets no matter what). The last few fish I have added I have started in QT tanks before adding them to the 125. I understand the life cycle of Ich a little better, but this brings me to my (hopefully) last question about it:

If I pull all of the fish out of the display tank and QT them in a few well maintained tanks with no rock or sandbed, just PVC Pipe, for 8 full weeks or longer, will the Ich start again in the 125 when I start to reintroduce the fish to their 125 gallon home?

To my understanding, this should fix it. I would remove EVERY fish from the 125 to hopefully kill the cycle within that 8 weeks. Longer if necessary. I'd rather know for sure before I go through the trouble of removing rock and inviting Mike Rowe over to film another episode of "Dirty Jobs".

Again, if I am missing another important aspect about Ich, please let me know in the simplest terms because I am not a biology or chemistry wiz. I've read so much in the last few months and I would just like a yes or no answer, if one exists. Thank you anyone.:)

you need to treat all the fish in q/t as well as leaving the main display empty.

the fish will just move the hypo into q/t where it will get worse in a small tank then back to the main tank.

use hypo to treat all the fish.

so that's a yes, right? If they are all in a QT tank, the display tank will only have my rock and inverts for 8 weeks.

yes but just to clarify you need to treat the ich in q/t or it will just go back with the fish.
