Age?

I was talking to an employee of the LFS and he said that clams only last about 1 or maybe 2 years. Right now I have one Deresa and a Crocea and I am thinking of purchasing 2 Maximas and 1 blue rim Deresa in a package deal. I do not want to purchase all of these clams and have them die a year later.

I just wanted to know how long have some of your clams lived.

Thanks
Richard

Sounds like this employee did not know what he was talking about. I dont think that these 3'+ clams got to that size in 2 years and I would have a hard time thinking that it only took 20 years. I don't think that you have to worry about clams dying of old age anytime soon.

As long as you acclimate well, good water quality, proper lighting and no water warfare then you will be able to keep them for years. :)

Oh, and good tank mates.
