Greart idea for the float level sensor for the skimmer cup. I have been wondering why more company don't offer this option ever since I seen it on one of the ATB skimmers.

The new tunzes rock on the profilux. What mode do you have yours on?

Hi Dejavu-

Curious about ATB's design. Do you have a link or photos?

For the Tunze since I only have one now, I just have it on surge mode between 0% and 80% over 30 seconds. That mixed with the closed loop on Oceans Motions makes quite a dramatic random current effect in the tank. Still debating whether or not to add another 6105. Will probably wait until more of the coral is grown in.

Some pretty exciting news this weekend! Well at least for me it is. I have been trying to track down a vendor in the US who has been importing Eddie Hansen's corals from Indo. I heard all kinds of crazy rumors...some even as far fetched that Eddie was not even exporting most of the corals pictured on his blog. Well I finally located one! I grabbed some killer stuff this weekend which should be here mid week. Will post some teaser picks later but here are some other recent photos to hold you over...

Very happy with the polyp extension I am seeing with this new tank! Beginning to wonder if the sandbed has anything to do with it...

Corals and fishes looking really at home...!! Can't wait for the new shipment of corals to come in and bring more life into this beautiful tank...!!

Great looking tank! With a relatively shallow tank and heat/energy bill issues being such a consideration (As a fellow Californian, I feel your utility bill pain), did you consider T5 only lighting?

This tank, while 75 gallons bigger than my last, is much cheaper to operate. The open top and large surface area is very efficient for evaporative cooling. 9-10 liters a day!

I have seen a few really nice T5 only tanks but its not for me.

Red Fungia

Red Fungia

Well the shipment came today from my Indo hookup and, if you will believe it, the fungia's I picked up are even more stunning in person...

tank looks awesome!

apart from the general wandering around issue, how have your SPS and bubble tips been getting along? i used to have a beautiful flame bubble, but let it go because not only was it growing too fast for my tank, but it would occasionally drop tentacles that would land on my montis... ever seen this happen?

The yellow one is very nice! No arco from Eddie? :)

AquaSD (the place buying from Eddie) is more into the LPS than the SPS. Maybe now that I got my fungia binge over with I can refocus attention on SPS.

Having the RBTA's in the reef has not been a problem for me. Once in a while they split and I just gently remove the offspring from the rock or glass. FWIW I have found that the RBTA sting is mild enough that the acros can tolerate a few days of contact with the anemone. As for shedding of tentacles, it happens from time to time but I have never had it hurt corals.

FWIW I always keep my anemones on their own rock islands away from the rest of the rock structure. I also try to keep them in a high flow area in the corners of the tank. This seems to prevent them from moving around.

new pics please i havent seen a FTS in a while. also how is your spetra doing? it was though in deciding between the spectra and sfligoi for my current setup but in the end i chose sfligoi cause of the deal they offered me with the custom black powdercoat finish.
