AgentSPS' 300 Gallon ***DreamReef***

Are you still using the fish net on top? Either way was interested in than egg crate...could you tell me the size of the monofilament??

that must have been a hush hush black market purchased wild caughts, theres no way any lfs would buy $750,000 of fish..... theres not alot of people that can afford $2500 fish....... and sitting on that much money worth of fish is just unethical

I work at the fish store that had all those Clarion Angels and the owner, my boss was holding them for the supplier who cauht them and then they were going to be shipped out. But agent sps your tank is amazing and I have recently set up a 300 gallon tank but mine doesn't compare at all to yours. Great work and keep it up!

I am still using the netting. I have two nets I made. One is 1/2" and the other is more like 5/8 - 3/4". You can pick it up at Lowes in the fence materials section in gardening. I believe its called deer netting.

Thanks for the props! I am in your shop probably once a week. I need to pressure Ken into getting more SPS in.

That looks like a sweet setup Erik! If it's lighting let me know what you got. I'm still thinking about the light setup for my new tank. :D

Looks great Erik, Really when you think about it and you see the way these people crate things I don't think they are really all that expensive. I can tell you it is crated better by them than it was by the manufacturer. But then again it would be very expensive for the manufacturer to package like this. But then again it sure would cut down on damaged products.

Here is a pic of how I recieved it when I got it from the dealer ;)

Can't wait to see it over the tank and see the difference between the 2 fixtures.....if this one has more spread.

So i just went through 35 pages in roughly 6 or so hours..... Anyhows I noticed in the last FTS your plate corals where gone. What did you do with them?

And I would like to add thanks to you I now look at sps acro's as i never had a taste for them untill after this thread so kudos !

So any advise for someone with a 125g tank just finished cycling and is starting out who wants to do a mix reef and what fish would you stick in there? Be honest and put yourself in the position :p

P.s. you should of tooken a loan out an got the porsche and the tank!

All-

Just wanted to let you know I decided to stick with the Spectra afterall. When I purchased the Sfiligoi I did not take into account that it weighed nearly double what the Spectra does. It was going to be a big engineering project to hang it over my tank and it just wasn't worth it in the end. I sold the fixture to a buddy of mine so it worked out okay in the end.

I did, however, swap out my PFO ballast for Lumatek this weekend and am blown away with the results!! For those who are not familiar with these, they are switchable. Meaning you can run them at 250w, 275w, 400w, and 400w overdrive.

Comparing a Reeflux 400w driven by PFO HQI next to a Reeflux 250w driven by Lumatek @ 275w, the 250w bulb was as bright if not brighter than the 400w. Also after an hour of running the Lumatek on both 275w and 400w overdrive it was just slightly warm to the touch. Super impressed so far!
