im sure you all remember the Clarkii Clown my friend had that had Brook right? well he does not want to wait 6 weeks for all the Brook to cycle out of the tank... the only thing in the tank now is a BTA and some hermets + the tank is starting to become over run with Algae... he is not happy about this and he has decided to start all over...COMPLETELY... i will be using some of my sand to seed his tank... keep in mind, the tank is only a 17 gallon so its no major re-do...
i am wondering should we use Aggregate or Sand when redoing the tank... which is beter and why...
what, if any thing should be done to be 100% sure that the Brook is COMPLETELY gone out of the system once the new setup is complete?... the only things that will be going back into the NEW tank is about 7 hermet crabs, and the BTA... NO LIVE ROCK! his 10 lbs of live rock is infested in flat worms and im sure, the water on the rock would help transfer Brook back into the newly setup system... the rock will be tossed.
any ideas? please advise.

there isnt much room for the QT tank holding the Tang that was completely treated for Brook and 2ndary infections as well and...
he is ready to have another clown again.
