Aggression or something else

In the last couple of weeks I've lost two clownfish, and a third isnt looking too good. Only other fish in the tank (75g) is a bicolor angel. The first clown ended up in the filter sock. Not really sure if it would be possible to fit through the slits in the overflow without been torn up which it wasnt. I can only assume that he jumped through a small opening between the top of the over flow and the screen top.

Second clown died while I was out of town. Fiance says he was laying on the bottom, not eating. The other clown fish would nudge him or whatever and he'd swim around for a bit. He did this for a day/maybe two. When she went to bed at night she couldnt find him anywhere - this was last week and I still havent found him.

Third clown fish had some white-blotches. These could have always been there - I just noticed them when I changed by light bulbs. He is in QT now with just a 6500k bulb and I can't see them anymore (but they were there before moving him over). The outer/clear edges of his fins are also quite tattered. He seems to be eating and doing fine other wise.

So - does this sound more like aggression from the angel? Ive never seen him bother the other fish, but then again, he tends to stay in the rocks when we are looking. He eats like an absolute pig and I have seem him pull food away from the clowns a time or two If I dont add a lot at once. Water params all seem fine - Ammonia, Nitrate, and Nitrate were all at 0, ph stays around 8.2.

A pic would really help. You can't keep more than 2 of, any clown species, without serious aggression . Juvis are fine together; but when 2 form a bonded pair, they won't tolerate the 3rd. Killing the odd clown is common in these situations.

Ive tried a couple of pics but the discolorations dont show up at all - they are very faint. The only noticeable thing on the surving clown was the tattered fins which I can try to get pic of if he/she will stay still. Ive looked at countless pics of brook, ich, velvet, and server fungal/bacterial problems and none of them look anything like the discolorations. I cannot see them at all under the 6500k bulb - the only show up onder actinics.

Blotches could be the common discoloration many fish get when in poor health or are badly stressed. The Angel could have picked on them, but they usually would find a safe place before now. With all 3 having the same problem, you have to suspect problems with the fish or dealer. Ruling out parasites is the smart first step, but watch all fish closely for a while. You may never know what happened. It sounds like you don't have a QT/HT; I'd sure get one set up before buying new fish.
