Aggressive fish you've had to remove...

One thing I'm very curious of with the maroon clowns is, does tank raised or not make a difference? I noticed there is a avg max size difference between the two and I'm curiuos to know if it may affect their level of agression? Im also curious to know if the people who had these maroon clowns that were seemingly evil (attacking hands, etc) had tank raised clowns or not?

Before I donated my Maroon Clown to the LFS display tank (400 or 500 gal.), I had her for about a year. She was the opposite of most Maroons, she was docile and I could hand-feed her flakes. When first purchased, I was told she was tank-raised from another customer who got store credit to get a mating pair of perculas.

So, my former maroon (tank-raised) was very gentle. OTOH, my tank-raised False Perc is now 12 yrs old and still attacks my hand, go figure.

The three I have had to remove
1. Sohal Tang - grew from a cute 3 inch fish to a 9 inch terror.
2. 6 line wrasse - attacked anything in the tank
3. Candy hog - this one would hide in the live rock, dart out, bite a fish, dart back

yellow tang is the most aggressive ive ever had. he killed a queen angel that was 6 in and a squareback anthia that was 4 in. the tang was 3 in. he never did attack the clowns.

eight line wrasse killed my kole tang and my clow fish pair. stressed out my diamond goby so much he is extremely skitish now and he didnt mess with my cleaner shrimp but i believe got ahold of my pistol shrimp because i havnt seen him in a while and my yesha goby is always out swimming and everything, used too not do that ever. I used to only see the yesha goby during feeding

Grouper...Caught it with a Hook. Ate it with lemon and butter over yellow rice and baked potato.

True percula clown. He was aggressive towards us (made me bleed with his teeny tiny bite) and the turkey baster that we had been using to spot feed in our tank. Then when he started trying to host himself into our whisker coral and making it sad we decided it was time to move the evil clown. He is still separated, I'm not sure if we'll take him to the LFS or stick him in another, smaller, tank by himself.

clarkii clown pair; [I kept the blue velvet damsel, if that gives you an idea]. A yellow dottyback, unequalled for viciousness and low cunning. A ghost eel---you really can't count it as aggression if it just calmly ate its tankmates.

Flame angel. Chased everyone, got rid of her when I decided to change tanks. I sold her to a lfs, who says she is still the bully in her new tank.

Red lip blenny, mean.. killed two tigger gobies and a fire fis, would attack long nose hawk and other... Then after all that decided to die on its own while I was traveling... I have a nasty hair algae bloom...

I've had to remove a 3.5" Domino Damsel. A 2" Bicolor dottyback. Another damsel. And a 4.5" Hawaian black trigger. All at different times. Gave them all away but sold the trigger.

Neon velvet damsel….outright killed one of my banggia cardinals, chased the female blue throat until it jumped out and died carpet surfing, nipped at the tails of my yellow tang, male blue throat and coral beauty. Their tails are slowly growing back. In addition, the day I removed this murderous villain, the demeanor of the tank immediately changed. Fish returned to freely swimming about, no longer hiding in the rocks.

Six-Line wrasse I just sold. Whenever my Scooter Blenny went near the glass or free swam he'd dart and peck at it. Didn't bother the other tank members though. He killed my aiptasia eating peppermint shrimp too :( Lucky it got all the aiptasia before its demise!

+1 on the Blue Damsel. Took out a Kole Tang. Also, an Eblie Angelfish. Just added a small Chevron Tang yesterday and the Eblie would not stop harassing it. Needless to say the Eblie went to the LFS today. The Chevron Tang is doing great now.
