My female wantanbei angel has suddenly gotten aggressive towards my Cirrhilibrus wrasses. She has beaten up my lineatus so badly I'm pretty sure he's not going to make it. Even the other wrasse in the tank have turned on him now....ones that were subordinate to him before. He's deep in the rock work and only comes out at feeding but doesn't get to eat. Has a really bad looking popeye and beatup fins, marks on his body. He tries to eat but the others won't let him.
The angel has been in the tank for over 18 months and the lineatus was in there before her. I've seen her chase him and the C. rubrimarginatus occasionally but in the past but never more than a second or two. Now it's relentless. Has anyone had a genicanthus do this? Why would she take offense to such a different shaped fish when there are two pyramid butterflies that are more competition and she ignores them?
