I bought two baby occelaris clowns and they have been growing well. i was looking at the smaller one and it looks like it got a bruise. after watching them in the tank, the larger one is really aggressive towards the small one. i am trying to feed it more because it looks skinny and stressed. He is constantly being chased and having to submit to the toher one. will he be ok?

Well, usually for most pairs of occ. they would do the dominant/ recessive thing for some time as they are trying to determine who is going to be the male ( Smaller one ) and who is going to be the female ( Larger one + More aggressive ). As long as the smaller one is able to eat and is not being brutally harassed ( Tore fins, cuts ect. ) I would just let them take their course. Make sure to keep a close eye on them though, if the bigger one seems like it's going to kill the smaller one I would just pull one of them out before the smaller one dies. Good Luck!

Does a pair still fight a lot after one becomes female? I would hate to have two clowns fighting all the time. I wonder if I would be better off having only one clown?

I would say no, but that's my personal experience with my occ. clowns. Once one is clearly dominant the other should back down and just follow along with the larger one or vice versa. After mine paired up and one was clearly female they didn't fight at all maybe a few dominance pecks/ twitches in a day, but I bet the longer their paired up for the less and less they'd fight. Good luck!

P.S. just a FYI I just got another pair of true percs and they never " fought " just the female dominance pecks and the male twitching and they've been together for only a few hours. They also seem to be swimming around together. So if you have either occ. or percs I would say that they wouldn't really fight as much as lets say maroons but that's my personal experience and from reading around.

Yah I got 2 new ocellaris clowns too. The female would sort of peck/nudge the male then sometimes the male would twitch.
