Ah! Found a mantis....

Ive had my tank up for about a month now, and just today i noticed a little blue mantis shrimp (about 1.2 inches or so). Im not exactly sure where his cave or area he hides in is, but its definitely in one of my lower rocks which will be very hard to remove. Is it alright is he stays? Are all mantis shrimp bad? I have had a porcelain crab in there for about a week now without knowing the mantis was in the tank and nothing has seemd to happen. Ive also had a clown in there for a little over 2 weeks and also, no problem. Right now, he doesnt seem to be creating damage...will he get bigger? And if he does, will he cause trouble? Ive not sure what kind he is (hammer type or slicing), i didnt get a very close look for too long. I would love to get rid of the guy, but i dont want to go through the heartache of traps and etc. if I really dont need to worry about him...Thanks.

That Clown will be a tasty snack... Sorry, but he will need to be removed. Search RC for Mantis traps, one thats effective uses a plastic soda bottle. He would be cool in a nano tank...

If you catch him I would pay you to send him to me Blue!!! Never really seen one like that before.

He definitely sounds like a smasher. Smashers usually live in the LR or more precisely I have not heard of spearers living in LR.

But seriously if you do catch him and don;t mind the trouble I really would like to keep him. I got a nice house all setup and everything
