You're absolutely right!! I did the "1 drop per gallon" and barely got a reading. lol..Had to put 70 drops
I added 20 drops and an hour later. Very frustrating!!
Lol...I took the so called ammonia in that little bottle and replaced it with pure ammonia I got from a home depot. 12 drops gets me to 2ppm..Problem solved lol...Only reason I got that Dr. Tims was because it was 3 bucks after ordering some other things on amazon. I basically just paid for the bottle lol
I tell you one thing.. That Bio-Spira def works along with the live sand, my rock was dry rock not live so I thought my cycling process would last longer than usual. My ammonia and nitrites are already going to zero in 24 hours. Ammonia from 2ppm to 0ppm and Nitrites from over 5ppm to 0ppm... Its only been about a week and I think its almost done cycling. When I get my stand I will wait another week after to make my big water change and put the tank on it.
My cycle is done and it's time for my big water change. My Nitrite and ammonia go from 2 ppm to 0 ppm in 24 hours (I test every 24 so it could be less). I just have a question regarding dosing. I use a tunze nano ato and I wanted to know if I can dose using the 2 gallon jug of RODI I use for the ato? At first I will housing a couple of clowns then some begginer soft corals and lps. And later on some sps. I would really like to keep the dosing as simple as possible so please...any suggestions are welcomed!!
