Ai sol white or black

So from what I can tell that there isn't any difference aside from the color. I think that I read that the black is designed to be ran parallel with the tank instead of across the tank. I don't have any sources here but I believe I read it on one of the posts I found using the search function. I've also heard that they have a new mounting system that will support parallel use like I mentioned. Is all this correct? Im about ready to but three AI units and the black units would match my tank stand but I've also read that people say they look cheap.

Anyone have them? If so how do you like them?

Also...not trying to start a hug debate here about which thinks what is better...just trying to get confirmation about something I've read in a blog but didn't see in the AI website.
