can anyone tell me how I use the caulk method to get rid of Aiptasi. what is the recipe? do I use plain all purpose caulk and ro water? the caulk i have says calcium carbonate aqueous acrylic emulsion benozoate mineral spirits for ingredients is this ok to put in my tank! any info would be greatly appreciated

No, u don't want to put caulk in your tank. Now if u mean kalk, as in kalkwasser (which is calcium hydroxide) then u just mix it with to water & use a syringe to squirt it on the aptasia. U don't want to use a bunch of it because kalk will make your ph spike.

Pause for a second.

You have misheard "kalk," which is short for kalkwasser. It's made with pickling lime and RODI water and forms a solution with a very high pH and supplements calcium and alkalinity in balanced proportions, or can be mixed with less water to form a paste that can be used on aptasia.

For more info, Google kalk or kalkwasser along with the name Randy Holmes Farley and read the articles you find.

As far as the method, a little water in a fish plus a couple spoons of pickling lime, stir it up, then use a syringe to inject the paste into the aptasia mouth. My syringe has a 1" blunt needle that wouldn't be useful at all for puncturing skin, but slips right into the aptasia.

Usually the kalkwaser, aka kalk, is calcium hydroxide. Not sure if calcium carbonate aqueous is the same. But with kalk you just mix it into a thick paste with ro water and inject it into the aptasia using a syringe.
