Aiptasia Eating Filefish

Anyone with personal experience. I’ve read conflicting things. I’ve read of problems with them eating LPS and Zoas. My tank is SPS dominant with a few Rics and Zoas.

I had great success with them although all SPS. It kept my frag tank aiptasia free and then the same when I moved him to the DT. I will be getting another one down the road.

Thank you. I’ve read the also eat colonial hydroids and I have some from my LR, that’s why I’m considering one. The Petco 30 minutes away had one last weekend.

Any issues with anemones and the filefish?

I never had an anemone while having the filefish so I can't say for sure. I would think it would be fine because it wouldn't eat the large aiptasia.

I had one in with a rock flower and euphyllia. It was fine with those.

Thanks guys. I have some colonial hydroids and the local Petco has a filefish so, thinking about adding it. Not worried about the LTA with the Clarkii’s but, also have a Chicago Sunburst BTA.

I was never a fan if these filefish. Love my CBB

I have had 3. 1 has eaten aiptasia. I have never had hydroids or something ate them before I saw them. I have ordered a CBB coming next week and have a tank with aiptasia to put it in.
