aiptasia in cheato

I am starting a new tank and want to use Cheato. I have another smaller tank that has cheato in the refugium but I do have some aiptasia in the sump area. Last night I noticed I had some growing on the cheato. Is there anything I can do to treat it? Was hoping to keep the new tank aiptasia and parasite/pest free for as long as possible

Peppermint shrimp is good for controlling them. I just noticed my problems a couple of days ago and people here have suggested that for me. I have also had really good success at using a needle to inject very hot water into the Aptasia. Injected the 2 largest ones in my tank and they are very clearly dead 2 days later.

Just pull the bit out with it stuck on it and trash it..
Plenty more cheato will quickly take the place of the removed piece..

Or only move over "clean" bits of cheato..

I have a small tank with 3 peppermint shrimp I put new LR and corals in and after a week there has never been any aptasia left on those. When I first started tho I used aptasia X and that stuff worked amazing IME.

Take that macro out as soon as possible .

Thanks for the replies. Is there any way I can transfer the cheato to my new tank without getting aiptasia. Can I treat it or leave it out for a day? Or something else.
