Aiptasia or no

No, not an aiptasia. Not sure what it is, might be a majano but I'm not sure on that because it has so few tentacles. But the ones it does have are bubbled and mojano do that.
 
With the rings you're talking about it sounds like a Curly Q from Florida. They actually sell them and they are a member of the Aiptasia family but not as invasive as aiptasia or majanos. So you can either keep it or kill it. But do look up the Curly Q or Curlique anemone

But they will still sting other corals and can eat fish, so...

I agree that it is probably a Curly-Q. I had a couple I collected in the Keys and they were fine in my shallow reef tank. They are quite hearty and may well survive in your new set up. I'd probably still have mine but a butterflyfish ate them!
