aiptasia problem...major

On a serious note, I would talk to a LFS and see what they have. Tell them up front you want to bring the fish back once your aptasia are gone and see what they would do in advance.
 
I had a small problem with aptasia a while back. I used boiling water and got a copperband from A.T. after a month or two ots all gone. Think greg sells copperbands for around 30.00. Yellow tang left him alone aftr r 2 weeks. Hes one of my favorite fish now. Good luck

do you have a reef? did the coperband pick at any of your corals?
 
Just getting into corals. Mushrooms leathers frogspawn and a candy cane so probably not what you are thinking. I watch him pick at the rock all the time still even though there is no more aptasia. He also eats from my hand so he would be easy to catch. Not sure if thats common. I think greg has a couple copperbands with corals at the store.
 
I just cleared out a large amount of aiptasia myself. Tried peppermint shrimp but always had them die off eventually. Bought a copperband and in the meantime blasted the large areas of aiptasia and singles with aiptasia X and it dis the trick. Paid $60 for the copperband and he took care of the small amount i had remaining. Now to get rid of the green bubble algae that returned after a 3yr absence. :-(
 
Chaetodon lunula not Procyon lotor! He ate all my aphasia without touching anything I cared about. Gorgeous fish too. Unfortunately died only a few months after eating the last of the aptasia. They can eat zooanthids and yellow polyps and even other coral, but mine
wasn't destructive.
 
Btw I tried peppermint shrimp too. Sometimes the shrimp ate the aphasia, but sometimes I think the aphasia ate the shrimp, and for the most part, they coexisted.
 
I just did another round of kalk with a nice water change seemed to do okay. will see come this week. I think im just going to have to wait till i move to bleach the rock out to kill everything.... unless i can find a LFS that has a fish

Just call one of the stores you are closest to and see if they will get in the fish you are looking for. Many of them order and pick up fish once a week!:fish2:
 
well im sorry i went over them three times to make sure they were okay dont know how i missed em like i said they are in my segregated frag tank....

but go ahead and complain im sure you probably want your money back to right?

Seriously man?

Nobody except you have mentioned about asking for money back. Im chalking it up as now I know better.

Am I complaining? I wouldnt say so, just mentioned that another member was right. It sucks but it is what it is, and ill now be treating MY problem like your apparent problem.

like i said i looked em over multiple times making sure they were ready to go.

I would love to see a picture of the aiptasia if you could.... it sounds like the 2 frags are just covered all over with aiptasia smh
