Aiptasia wand

I have a bottle of AiptaisX along with the requisite syringe and applicator. I live on the west side and you are welcome to borrow rather than buy ($17 at Petco). Email me at emdm54@yahoo.com

My friend let me borrow one. It is a waste of time. Use aptasiax instead. I think I actually doubled my aiptasia in my tank using it for 2 weeks.

Peppermint shrimp and aiptasiax together are the best course of action.

I too was told Peppermint Shrimp would eat aiptasia. In 2 months not once did they show any interest.

I just used kalk paste on a few tonight. They've gotten pretty good at hiding from me. There were 3 under the base of my RBTA and a really huge one had gone unnoticed by blending in behind my tan gorgonian. Lots of remedies work, but I have kalkwasser anyways, so I just use that.

I am interested to hear more about the wand, or any alternative to using paste. These guys have a habit of popping up in the middle of things that I don't want to nuke with kalk paste and it would be nice to have a more precise method.

laserbeams, blowtorch, peppermint shrimp, and as a last resort, Aiptasia X. I haven't tried the lasers yet. sounds fun though.

Aiptasia wand is a real waste of time. I have used it 6 times now and it sucks. I feel I made the issue worse in my 120g so I went to the peppermints.

I heard there are a couple kinds of peppermint shrimps. Cold water and warm water ones. I heard you want the warm water ones.

I just picked up 8 from ARC. I put 3 in my 20L mangrove tank and they cleaned it up in 4 days, 2 in my 40br frag tank and that tank is good now too and now they are aiptasia free zones.

I put 3 in my 120g. I have not seen them again. So I don't know if they were killed by something but there is no change. I will probably buy another 8 and put them in there to see if they can reduce the issue. I don't have a ton of aiptasia but in my mind "one" is too many.

put on some Slayer!

put on some Slayer!

see what happens when you don't post here often, Mark?
They think you're a noob!
At least we got some useful feedback on the ape wand.
(I'd never even heard of such a thing- can somebody link some good info on it?)

You might want to look into Aiptasia lasers, Mark. The lasers seem much kewler than a wand!

I'd rather be Darth Maul with a laser than Tinkerbell with a wand!

Hay whats wrong with tinkerbell?
My thought with laser is it's like a sharp knife, but a sharp knife will allow cells to escape and spread. So to me a laser might even be worse. If you use a local electric current like a wand and treat it in a bowel, not the tank, then rinse the colony, that might work. I'm thinking of my palys and zoas of course.....
