aiptasia

Aiptasia Control by Blue Life or Joe's Juice. Kills them almost instantly. Comes with a syringe where you squirt liquid chalk like substance by its mouth, it aborbs it and Aiptasia seems to dissolve immediately.

Well if it were that simple, there would not be all the postings on the subject. Chemical control is semi-effective sort of in that they grow back unless you do it perfectly. I use a combination of chemical and biological (peppermint shrimp).

+1 on the kleins butterfly. He took care of all the aiptasia in 2 days. I had to take him out because he nipped on my sps. Peppermint shrimps also worked for me. Tried Joes Juice but they always came back.

Red Sea Apitasia X worked great for my tank. I tried other stuff, but this actually worked!!

X2. This stuff really works, and they don't come back, and its reef safe. I have used it quite a bit in my mixed reef tank, and have had no ill side effects.

Caribbean Peppermint shrimp....don't feed the tank for a couple of days and the aptasia will be gone pretty much overnight.

Will any of the products mentioned above hurt zoos? I have some in a colony.

I don't personally have any zoos in my tank anymore, but a friend of mine actually got some of the Red Sea product on some of his zoos and nothing happened. I have gotten some on my sps's before and no damage.

I have 2 aiptasia heads on a zoanthid colony rock and I was wondering if taking it out and drilling the aiptasia out of the rock would help?

Paraletho back online
1 day of Edouard
3 days no power
0 casualties unless you count the grandkids trampoline or the dogs house

I have a few aptasia and would love to have some peppermints but I have a Coral Banded and I've heard they will make mincemeat of other shrimps
