Ok guys....my second thread ever....haha on one of my pieces of Live Rock I had identified 3 Aiptasia (Glass, Rock) anemones.
Today I went to the vet and picked up a syringe with a needle...I injected them with lemon juice and it seemed that they had died instantly, though I missed one....so I put lemon juice back in the syringe and gave my best shot at sticking the needle in several places inside that part of the rock, haven't seen any sign of the anemone since.
The bigger one that I was pretty sure died right away...I temporarily removed the rock from the tank and sawed off that section with a knife just that bit where the anemone was on I made sure none of the debris went back onto the rock instead I dropped it into a container.... I tried to scoop out where the one I had missed was as well will the knife and then I poured the remaining lemon juice into the hole.
Is there a very good chance these pests will return since I've done so? If so how long will it take for them to show up? (I know if I messed up I'll get more than one...heh)
Also if there is any dead matter on them will they be able to respawn? or do I have to try to remove that? I do have two peppermint shrimp but I think I got the ones that don't eat Aiptasia....ugh....
Any input would be great....I have read up on Aiptasia and know how it works was just looking for what others think about it coming back or not.
