Air Bubbles on Powerhead

What are the advantages of having the air tube shooting air through your powerheads? Is this ok for a reef or FOWLR?

You dont need air being directed into the water for oxygen, your water movement will be enough for that.
The only bubbles can pose is, if they get stuck to corals that part of the coral can die and become very irritated from them.
The fish can also be irritated by them as well.

Your skimmer should put plenty of oxygen in the water without resorting to bubbles through the power heads.

Pat
