Air Bubbles

Hey guys,

I just upgraded from the std nanocube hood to a 150 W HQI with 2 x 28w T5 HO globes. I have just got home from work to find that I have air bubbles rising through the tank from the substrate and LR.

Does anyone know what this could mean? Is it just an adjustment period to the higher lighting, and go away in time. Or do I have a problem?

Thanks

Anthony

The upgrade in lighting probably led to increased photosynthesis, which is producing oxygen. When the water gets supersaturated the oxygen forms bubbles.

The only time extra oxygen is bad is when you have a fire.

You should be fine, just be prepared for a little algae outbreak as the tank gets used to the extra light.

Thanks all,

When I got up and turned the lights on this morning, my tank was green. After just 1 day with the HQI running. Will this continue or even out ? Should I get more clean up crew? 2 turbos, 1 Cerith and 2 hermits currently.
