Hi there,
I have a matched couple of A. ocellaris clown. Yesterday night I observed a weird thing going on with the female fish. An air sack was coming out of one her gills. Interestingly, the air sack has a pulsating motion due to the breathing movements, and it comes in and out of her gill.
Other than that the fish is in perfect health, it eats as usually and no change of behavior was observed. This might rule out the idea of an infestation.
To me it looks like it some air got trapped inside one of the air sacks. I hope it will retract by itself, I would hate to poke the air sack to force the air out.
I will watch the fish closely.
I have never seen such a thing happens to clowns. Have anyone experienced the same thing? Any thoughts or ideas why this happened?
All comments and opinions are of great help.
I posted the pictures, sorry for the bad resolution (They should be clear enough to show what I mean).
Thank you.
Lucas
