Albino clownfish?

Albinism is a genetic condition and I know there are albinic genes in the marine fish population at large. I do not know of any clownfish with the condition but I don't believe it is impossible.

The term "albino clownfish" certainly does exist as albino is just an adjective.

Yeah I am thinking of the animal type of albinism where the whole body is lack of color pigment (i.e white for many animal) and reddish eyes type of thing. Just wondering if anybody ever seen such fish ?

I am sure that albinism exists in clownfish, but the chance of one surviving and mating in the wild are beyond astronomical. then you just have to find that damn fish. I am certain that an albino fish will be driven from a nest and will fail to find a mate.

with heavy breeding snowflakes may reach a completely white state as they already leucistic and selective breeding will only enhance that trait.

I'm assuming Ediaz is talking about sea quest farms.

good to hear your still around Ed. I got some spawning ocellaris finally

Sorry brother, not for sale. Hey I'm out in your neck of the woods again. I may need some advice from ya on the raising of the fry.

specifically, if the male is percula and female is ocellaris. Will they fry develop fast like ocellaris or slow like percula?

sorry to hijack

I have yet to see any True "pink eyed" Albino clownfish or dottybacks in several thousands. But I don't doubt they are possible.

I have seen all black, both clown and dottybacks. But they mostly don't make it or turn normal colors.
