Couldn't afford the real thing. Here is my new Spotted Kole Tang.

I went to an LFS in the area and spoke with a guy who works there and he is not only getting a 600 gallon tank in a couple weeks but will also stock it with up to 6 Gem Tangs. His goal is to get at least a pair and see if they will breed and sell the others off.

He has the tank on order and the connections to get the fish, we'll see.

is that a birds nest above the gem tang?
Yes it is a birds nest that is finally turning green. Also it's not a Gem tang it s a spotted Kole.

nait002,

I just got a blue spotted kole the other day from saltwaterfish.com. He looks really healthy and fat, but he won't eat. All he is doing is grazing off the rocks. Whats yours eating? Got any suggestions on how to get this guy interested in some food.

Thanks
James

Mine didn't eat for at least a week. He now eats prime reef flake food and my home made batch of frozen food like a pig. If he's not getting skinny and he's cleaning all the micro algae off your rocks he should eat soon. Just keep offering food.
