algae bloom causes?

I agree with Landon- Cyano always seems to start growing where this is little to no flow. I had this problem, added more flow and a couple of good water changes. That took care of the problem. Are you worried that your SPS will not grow with alot of water flow? If so, why? I have never heard that.

i don't believe flow always cures cyno. i had a spot in my tank that had tons of flow. so much that the sand constantly moving around would baring some of my corals , and it still got covered in cyno from time to time. i feel its more of the lighting and nutrients that is the main problem
 
increase kh value i read that works also increase skimming maybe the use of some carbon at times and i have used the cyno killer or the chemical apprroach had good sucess with that anything that will incress redox potental good luck cory also more flow helps cause sometimes the algae cant adheare to the rocks or the sand
