Algae growing on acrylic tank

Long story short, new lights fueled new algae growth on my aquarium front panel. I've got some diatoms going on (easy to wipe with magfloat) and another rust colored hard algae that the magfloat won't remove. I need some sort of scraper I think - suggestions for one that works well on acrylic? Half tempted to use my ice scraper but most of my 'good' ideas have a way of biting me in the rear.

That algae is probably coralline algae. Go to a hardware store and ask them for plastic single edge razor blades and holder, or use an old credit card. I just bought one of these and they work fairly well too.

I use Kent scrapers (long and short handles) with plastic blades made for use on acrylic. Be VERY careful not to get sand between scraper and acrylic panel.

I picked up one of the Kent scrapers. Looks much better now. Almost sleep time for the tank though - blues only.
