Algae ID Please!

Can someone please identify this algae?(see attachment). When my hands come in contact with it I get an irritation that lasts about a week or so.

It would be great to know the best way to get rid of it.

Look up "colonial hydroids," that should get you started.

Thanks guys...

Hydroids appear to be tough to rid. Anyone have experience eliminating them? I saw a post where Nudibranches may be effective.

You could try smothering them with some epoxy. This would basically be like putting chewed up bubble gum over them. This will eventually become hard and after awhile you'll never even know the Hydroids were there. You can start mounting corals on these spots & everything. A fresh start so to say. GL.

I also saw an article on a chemical called Hydroxs. I am in the process of gathering info on all options then figure out the best way to go. I am hoping that there is/are some natural solutions to to eliminate the pest.
