Can I have an ID please? Growing on the back of one of the rocks in the display tank, is it worth saving and moving to the refugium?

Secondly does anyone have any advice for controlling caulerpa taxifolia? This stuff is impossible to get rid of, nothing will eat it and maunal removal results in it spreading like a plauge!

Looks like caulerpa peltata/nummularia. Some herbivorous fish have been reported to eat C. Taxifolia like some Rabbitfishes and tangs, but most of these guys require largeish tanks. How big is your tank?

Some people find Caulerpa nummularia/peltata to be just as invasive as the Caulerpa taxifolia. I would exercise some caution in keeping it in a reef environment, even in the refugium.

Both the above peltata and taxifolia came in to my tank as hitchhikers on live rock. I will remove it if I can.

My tank is a 2x2x2ft cube with 25l refugium and 25l sump.
